“Your saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed” (Psalm 139:16).

I believe wanting to be known is one of our greatest desires. I’m not talking about basic things like favorite hobbies or hangouts. I’m talking about the really deep stuff. You know, the things that makes us tick and ignite our passions. The things that bring us joy and pain.

Sadly, so many people in the world today feel misunderstood and even invisible to those around them. It’s also a recurring theme in recovery meetings.

Perhaps you feel like your parents, spouse, co-workers, or even your own children don’t understand you. You may even feel like you don’t really understand yourself.

What I can tell you is that God ‘gets’ you:

“You made all the delicate, inners part of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13).

What’s even more wonderful is that He is your Father. If you ask Him, He will show you who you are. He knows you intimately. After all, He created you in His own image.

“So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God He created them; male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27).

Let that sink in. God created you in His own image. That means you are pretty awesome.
